I once went down at 60 Km/h (just less than 40 mph) on a summers day in perfect conditions.
Emergency braking in a corner!
I slid for 15 yards on my left side with the footrest trapping my trouser leg.
I had a couple of minor bruises and a severely damaged ego!!
I had spent about SFr. 1'500.-- ($ 1'000.--) on protective all-weather clothing -
jacket, trousers, back protector, helmet, gloves and boots.
The jacket and trouser were repairable, but the helmet was done.
I'm an hourly paid freelancer and the clothes paid for themselves in this one crash!!
